Waiting on Wednesday (1) - Days of Blood and Starlight

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

I'm so very excited to be doing our first Waiting on Wednesday here. Today, I will be talking about the upcoming sequel to the amazing Daughter of Smoke and Bone.

DAYS OF BLOOD AND STARLIGHT
In this stunning sequel to the highly acclaimed Daughter of Smoke and Bone Karou must come to terms with who and what she is, and how far she’ll go to avenge her people. Filled with heartbreak and beauty, mysteries and secrets, new characters and old favorites, Days of Blood and Starlight brings the richness, color and intensity of the first book to a brand new canvas.
Release Date: November 6th, 2012
Pages: 528 pages
Pre-order via: Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Book Depository
Add it via: Goodreads

I read Laini Taylor's Daughter of Smoke and Bone earlier this year and I was in awe after I finished. It was my first foray into YA angel fiction and, wow, what a first impression. It definitely lead me to checking out other angel related books, like the Unearthly series and I hope to read many more. Daughter of Smoke and Bone not only introduced me to something new, but it's also one of the best books I've ever read. The premise and world-building alone is unlike anything I've ever seen, and the way the book unfolds is utterly and completely mind-blowing. I won't say anymore because for those who haven't read it yet, it's too good to give away even the smallest thing.

I honestly can't even properly express how excited I am for this release. I mean, that cover. That name. Days of Blood and Starlight. Talk about stunning. I think that just might be my favorite name for a book.

Whether you're not really familiar with this series or you haven't gotten around to it yet for whatever reason, remember, there's still plenty of time to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone between now and November 6th!

So, what book are you counting down the days for? Please feel free to link me to yours. =)

About Us

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Once upon a time, there were two sisters -Susan and Shauna - who were moved and mesmerized by stories through any medium, since they were teeny tiny. This passion stayed with them throughout adulthood, and after becoming even more enthralled with Young Adult fiction in recent times (and some Adult & MG!) they decided they just had to open up their own book blog and share their enthusiasm with the world, or well, to anyone who would listen.
